Cue & Review Recording Service has been recognised by Scottish Enterprise Dunbartonshire as winner of its Innovation Business Oscar for 2002.

Past winners of the Community Excellence Award 2000 and Highly Commended in the E-Commerce category in 2001 we are delighted that in our twentieth year, we romped home as winners of the Innovation and New Applications Award. The award recognised not only our commitment to providing a range of audio titles for visually impaired people, but also the developments that we have made for those businesses interested in making their print brochures available in audio format have access to an online quotation tool. Unlike humans, the tool is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. This ensures Cue & Review Recording Service is now never closed for business!

Alastair McPhee (Founder and Managing Editor of the charity) spoke of his delight at winning the award and the opportunity to meet the evenings host BBC Reporting Scotlands Jackie Bird. We seem to be making a habit of meeting Jackie at award events for proof of this just check out our story on Pudsey!

Alastair said To have the recognition of the business community, and Scotlands leading female news presenter after what has been a tough year for the team is much appreciated.

Remember that Cue and Review Recording Service is run by volunteers of all ages. Their hard work in conjunction with the management team, has ensured that we have gone from strength to strength over the last twenty years.

In recognising the work put in by our team I must also recognise the funders of this development - the Scottish Executive Voluntary Issues Unit, the support that we have received from Mike McIntryre of www.stob.co.uk and the team at www.adolos.co.uk. We also want to thank Callum Spreng, Corporate Affairs Director of the Scottish Media Group. SMG led the way in offering Cue and Review Recording Service the rights to record their newspapers in audio format for distribution from our site. The annual awards dinner was held at Cameron House Hotel on Friday the 25th October 2002.
