Cabinet Minister in Audio - 14 Apr 2003

Picture for Cabinet Minister in Audio news

Minister for Culture Media and Sport in the Scottish Cabinet, Mike Watson visited the Cue and Review Recording Service studio last week to record his election address for Glasgow visually impaired listeners.

The Bishopbriggs based charity for the blind welcomed the effort being made by the Labour party candidate for Glasgow Cathcart in ensuring that some of the blind and partially sighted voters in Glasgow were encouraged to take a full role in the Scottish Parliament and Local Elections on May 1 2003.

Alastair McPhee, Managing Editor, explained to Mike the role being played by Capability Scotland in ensuring that disabled voters can participate. Their website at Vote 2003 ensures that visually impaired voters with access to text reading software can read up in advance on the assistance that will be provided to them.
