How Do I Get Tapes?

What does Cue and Review Recording Service do?

Cue and Review Recording Service is a Scottish Charity registered with the Inland Revenue number SCO18016. We provide recorded magazines on cassette tape to blind and partially-sighted people, while enabling volunteers to have the opportunity to work in a recording studio.

The charity provides news and information in a magazine format, recorded on to tape. Some of the titles are available as audio downloads either from this site or as podcasts. We aim to offer a similar service to that enjoyed by sighted people - an on-line newsagent where listeners can select the title of their choice at the time that suits them, while not being restricted to the number of titles that they can choose from.

What is the eligibility criteria for receiving the audio service?

Anyone with a visual- or reading-impairment may receive the service from us. Completion of either the on-line or print order form is a listener's guarantee that he or she is in one of these categories.

Is there a charge?

Yes, you can access all the titles on audio tape or cd for a membership fee of 70p per week payable quartlery, half yearly or yearly in advance.  Cassettes are sent out in yellow plastic wallets using the Articles for the Blind freepost system.

Is there a limit to the number of titles that one person can subscribe to?

No. You can have as many titles as you wish for your £35 per annum.  As long as you have paid your How to Subscribe we will keep sending you your tapes, to keep costs down however we urge you to send your wallets and tapes back once you have enjoyed them.

How does a visually impaired person subscribe to a title?

There are two ways to subscribe: either via the form on our web site or by completing a paper version of our application form. You can download a copy here in PDF or MS Word 97 format or you can request that we send you one through the post. We are happy to send out a number of application forms for you to hand out or leave in local venues on our behalf.

Where can I get further information?
