Ryan OConnor (15) from Possilpark and Anton Martin (15) from Sighthill are shown above completing their week's work experience with the Glasgow based charity for the blind. Pupils of Thomas Muir High School, the lads were just two of the many pupils who have worked with the charity during the year. Cllr. Gotts was impressed by the facilities offered by our service and was delighted to hear that Council support had gone some way to encouraging young people to get involved with the service. Our Managing Editor explained to the Convenor that in the past, transcribing national newspapers and magazines from print into audio formats involved a period of training in how to use reel to reel recorders. Now the skills learned on Playstations are being put to good use editing, presenting and copying titles recorded by the charity.
