Corporate Recordings Raise £13,000 towards Tape Service - 13 Nov 2002

This has been a very busy year for our team. To date we have recorded 80 documents; (ranging from 5 minutes to 15 hours in length) copied, checked, labelled and packed just under 5000 tapes and it is still only November!

Our dedicated and very experienced team is exhausted but delighted that so much information is now being made in accessible format. Did you know that every leaflet produced by Nationwide (for example) is available on tape as well as information for Intelligent Finance, the National Australia Group, Scottish Friendly Assurance and Scottish Provident, and the Department of Work and Pension Benefits Leaflets.

The Scottish Executive also transcribes its consultation documents and information leaflets. All of these have been commissioned, through the Scottish Braille Press and are read and produced by our own Jim, Margaret, Karen, Karen, Hugh, Mairi, Ros, Jackie and John under the guidance of Morag. We have all enjoyed learning about such diverse subjects as canals, museums, healthy eating and the housing stock transfer in Glasgow while providing an essential service and providing an income for our cause. So far this year we have been able to clear just over £13000 to enable us to continue to provide our range of 22 titles to our listeners.
