Liam Lends A Hand - 27 Jul 2005

Picture for Liam Lends A Hand news

Lanarkshires 107 The Edge's Breakfast presenter Liam McCann popped into the Bishopbriggs studios of Cue and Review Recording Service to record this weeks? Radio Times with East Kilbrides Kevin Miles.

The two work with the talking newspaper service which records both national and regional press along with running an internet radio station for young people. Speaking today Liam said"I really enjoyed my time recording the range of titles produced by this Scottish Charity before I joined 107 The Edge, therefore when I get the time I still pop back to lend a hand." Liam has recently broadened his horizons and is now presenting a show on West Lothian's River FM on a Friday night, along with playing the best party tunes on Q96 on a Saturday night whilst still managing to squeeze in the time to keep Scotland dancing at his club gigs.

During his time at Cue and Review Print Speaking to the Blind Liam recognised the need for blind and partially sighted people to gain access to newspapers and magazines so has subsequently been willing to promote the service where he can.

Alastair McPhee Managing Editor of the charity welcomed his willingness to stay involved, Liams a great presenter and we were sorry to lose him when he went off to advance his career. With over 3,000 blind and partially sighted people in North Lanarkshire and over 2,000 in South Lanarkshire we are keen to increase the number of people receiving the Radio Times, Inside Soap and the many other titles produced by local and national talking newspaper groups such as our own.

If you know of someone who could benefit from receiving their newspaper on tape telephone 0141-563-0306 or email information@cueandreview.org.uk for an information cassette? END

Note to Editors

Further information on the service can be gleamed from our website at www.cueandreview.org.uk however it should be noted that there is now a membership fee of 50p per week for this however members are able to gain access to all of our 20 titles.
