IT Officer Appointed - 10 Feb 2002

Colin joined Cue and Review Recording Service in 1999 as a volunteer. He was soon working in a voluntary role as our Technical Director and in January 2000 he was appointed as our Training Officer, organising and providing training for our volunteers and staff in all aspects of our work.
He is a self-professed "geek" by nature with a keen interest in all aspects of technology. He was therefore instrumental in ensuring the installation of our digital sound systems and the transferral from our old analogue system.
Colin transferred to the role of IT Development Officer in January 2002 where his responsibilities are:

to work with our website developers to acquire the skills necessary to transfer and update sound files to and from the site;

to Develop a work plan for efficient site operation and management;

to train volunteers and other members of staff in the new skills;

to monitor and evaluate the pilot site suggesting where appropriate improvements and ensuring awareness of general IT innovation;
-
to work with key staff members to raise the awareness amongst the visual impairment community, public, private and voluntary sectors of the potential of real voice audio.
Colin has a BSc in Speech Pathology and a HND in Music Technology and Electronics.
