Ripper Records Talking Newspaper Interview - 17 Feb 2002

Aberdeen Sunday 17th February 2002 heard the star of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Anthony Stewart Head being interviewed at the Forbidden Planet store in Aberdeen by Cue and Review Recording Service volunteer Karen McPhee.
Karen a member of the Tuesday evening SFX and Star Trek Team had said that she would crawl over glass to secure an interview with the tweed jacket wearing bespectacled star of the American thriller. However instead of crawling over glass she merely has to contact Kevin ODonnell Director of Forbidden Planet who was more than happy to speak to Tony to arrange the interview. The courtesy ensured that rather than joining the hundreds of people who lined Schoolhill, Aberdeen to get Tonys autograph the volunteer presenter and sound technician for the science fiction talking magazine produced by our charity had merely to walk straight in and chat to the man himself.
Following on from the success of this first celebrity interview Cue & Reviews latest roving reporter braved the wilds of the Irish Sea to bring another interview back to the studios. Although, to be honest, the Irish Sea was remarkably calm and the glorious weather in Belfast certainly made up for the 6.30am start.
The interview was with the big bad from season 5 of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Glory. Clare Kramer, who played the part of the god reeking vengeance on all things non-godly, arrived surrounded by organisers of the event from Forbidden Planet itself, Wolf Events and her personal assistant. It always amazes me, but this woman who seemed larger than life on the television screen is actually quite small and petite, and looked quite nervous to be facing the fans at her first signing event in this country.
The interview went very smoothly and after the obligatory picture of me looking uncomfortable next to someone whos job it is to look good on film, I headed off into the sunshine to enjoy the remainder of my day trip to a beautiful city.
The final word must go to the young boy at the front of the queue, whos long suffering father had driven for several hours to arrive early at the store. He was so excited at the prospect of meeting Clare Kramer that he couldnt keep still and, when asked what he was going to say to her when he finally met her, he admitted that he was probably just going to faint!
