Volunteers receive training in maintenance of site - 21 Jun 2002

Picture for Volunteers receive training in maintenance of site news

Nine volunteers and staff members today received training from Adolos Consultancy in the maintenance of our new web site. The event was held at East Dunbartonshire's Enterprise House and covered: how to log into the site, editing stories, posting news articles on the site and accessibility issues.

The last few months have seen an enormous amount of hard work put into the site by all those involved, from the volunteers at Cue & Review Recording Service, to our site developers, Adolos Consultancy. The project, funded by the Scottish Executive, is now reaching the stage where our volunteers can become actively involved in the web site. This will expand the reach of Cue & Review Recording Service by opening up a whole new world-wide audience. Whilst retaining the tape service for our existing users, new subscribers to our on-line service, can now log on to the site and download the very latest recordings from our studio the same day that they are recorded.

During the training course, all those present learned how to update stories such as this to keep the content of our site as up to date and interesting as possible for our users. We also hope that, through events such as this, we can help spread the word about accessible web site design.

Feedback from those attending included "It was finger-clicking good", "..thoroughly enjoyable and enlightening introduction to web site maintenance which will lead to further developments on the site."
