How do I know what your hours are

We don't just work "office hours" you can access our studios to  record your shows at any time as long as their is a key holder in the building and you have done your basic training. Find out studio availability by taking a look at our calendar. For now read on about how to get involved.

How do I get Involved as a Volunteer

Volunteering can take various forms here at Cue and Review Recording Service.  School work experience, leading to your Duke of Edinburgh's community service, followed by your period of unemployment where you join us on the Community  Jobs Fund or simply coming because you have a love of media or family members with a visual impairment.

The Standard We are Looking For

As we move towards a daily broadcast (potentially live) for all of our newspapers we are needing to ensure that we have a high calibre of volunteer working with us.

Recruitment Process

That is why we now encourage all potential volunteers to submit a CV outlining the skills that they can bring to the service.  Be that in media, marketing and pr, sales, editorial, fundraising or administration.

Presenters, Producers and Sound Technicians

If you are interested in being a presenter we will then conduct a telephone interview before bringing you into the studio for a trial run.  This can be as simple as you leaving us a message on our answering service  at 0141-416-2251 if you do that please still also drop us an email so as we can get back to you.

Presenters will be encouraged to be their own sound technicians but where a voice is not up to our standard we may encourage you to train as a producer/technician or look at your other skills to see how you can help.  We are needing at least 40 voices per month but one person could coming in 5 mornings a week could be 20 of those voices, obviously though the more voices we have the more variety our listeners get.

Editorial and  Administration.

We need people willing to take charge of the preparation of the scripts be that the material pulled from Scottish newspapers every day or materials written by our team following interviews or events they have been to.  With the Sonata box being available to us we are keen to once again have members organising for people to review cultural or sporting events, to conduct interviews with politicians and celebrities to then be aired to our listeners and in future possible as part of East Dunbartonshire/North Glasgow Radio.

We also need team members to take charge of the stock control issues surrounding our activates and the issues surrounding the  distribution of the service.  At present around 600 people listen to us daily on their Sonata box and 50 via the old wallet and cassette service.

Sales, Marketing and Public Relations.

With over 188,000 Scots blind or partially sighted and with a limited budget we need to find inspired ways to reach out to our audience.  By working with the British Wireless Fund for the Blind and building on our connections with the RNIB we hope to reach a larger section of the market.

We do however need volunteers who recognise the importance of regular press releases, fresh content for our website, attending events to give talks or representing the charity at fundraisers.

With our involvement in www.blindweatherlottery.co.uk we would like to see an increased number of participants and ideally we would welcome people willing to sell lines with this fundraiser or encourage people to sell items on our charity eBay shop.

Can we be really ambitious and recruit someone dedicated to winning us more public private and third sector recording work?

Fundraising

We must raise £6,000 every month and we need street collectors, event organisers, and supporters to achieve that goal.  Could we be lucky enough to find a team of people to help with that?
